“my biggest struggle that I have to being a female in society is reminding myself that I am enough. females have evolved in beautiful ways over many years but often these changes (and the media) put thoughts in our head of having to look a certain way, be the perfect partner, be a mother that does it all, be the best best-friend, be the loving sister and daughter that drops everything for family, have a successful career, give back to the community, inspire change, be, be, be … I am the type of woman to go after so much, because I want to be a part of this growth and I want other women to know that “you can do this too.” however, it isn’t humanly possible to be everything to everyone. this mindset can be detrimental to our health, relationships and most of all, the way we love ourselves.”
her advice to aspiring leaders? “you can never truly know how things are going to turn out in life but you can do everything you can to lay down the tracks and feel confident about each step. make the best decision you can with where you are at right now, in this very moment. you don’t have to follow the path society has written for you. you also don’t have to follow the path of your parents or friends. this is your life. you can go as fast or as slow as you want. just always plan to live out each moment authentically and with heart.”
