"through pressure from society, growing up living life as a dancer, bad habits were formed. I struggled with my body image which piggy backed an eating disorder. pilates made me feel strong and empowered to overcome my struggles. I had to learn that strong and healthy is what was important and not how skinny I could be. feeling that positive strength in my first proformer pilates class is what inspired me to form my business. I wanted to share my love at first sight experience with it to everyone around me. my first location caught on very quickly, which lead me to being a business owner with four locations. a lot of people are shocked at the success I have had starting at such a young age, myself included."
"living and learning has shaped me as a person. there is no right way or wrong way to do something, it all comes from trial and error. what works for me and my clientele may not work for the next person, as long as you don't give up you will find the grove. you have to experience life in order to learn from it. there are a lot of people who will try and knock you down. for me it was about having a tight small circle with people I can truly depend on, to express struggles with. It is these people that help to hold me accountable."
her advice to aspiring leaders? "It is important to always remind yourself of the big picture. every step may not be forward towards the big picture - but as long as all the steps added up are towards the big picture, then you will get there. we are not perfect. we all make mistakes. keep your eye on your prize and you'll make it. It is worth it."
