her biggest female inspiration? rebecca pacheco, author of do your om thing: bending yoga tradition to fit your modern life. "yoga and meditation have helped me get through the challenges I face every day with a clear mind and over all less stress and anxiety. rebecca does a great job of putting a modern spin on these practices that have changed my life."
"I’ve been challenged a few times, being in a role mostly held by men, but over time I’ve learned to stay true to myself in any situation. doing this gives me a chance to show who I am as a person, which is much more important than my gender. I’ve gone through a few life-changing situations since graduating college. until then, I didn’t realize how easy it was for happiness to fall away. I’ve learned to live mindfully and embrace every moment - the good and the not so good. without the not so good, I would not be who or where I am today. #embracethenotsogood"
her advice to aspiring leaders? "It’s easy to get caught up in the work you love to do. take time for yourself every day to do something (else) that you love. whether that’s to run, paint or grab tea with a friend, you’ll be surprised by the amount of inspiration that may come from it. plus, you just need some me time, sometimes. love yourself and breathe."
