“I co-lead an amazing group of over 1000 women, all in the bay area, where we hold fitness events and generally support and motivate each other. I also love to support companies that give back to their communities and/or reinvent conventional products to be more sustainable and kinder for the environment.”
“my biggest struggle is one we all share: image. being a female in a society that regards certain standards as beautiful is taxing on your mental health; one can see no other option but to compare themselves to unrealistic portrayals and feel inadequate. also, it's amazing how something as superficial as image can make us reconsider our own intelligence and worth in our workplaces. yet, we constantly feel like we're battling to prove or validate ourselves because we've been conditioned to do so, as if we need to prove why we're relevant. It can get pretty exhausting! thankfully enough, we live in a time of immense change, where we are able to witness a steady shift that's redefining the beauty standard, and recognizing the incredible strength and power that females possess, which is amazing to say the least! as crazy as the world is right now, I'm very thankful to be living in time like this.”
her advice to aspiring leaders? “If there's anything I look up to in a person, it's not perfection, it's not appearance, it's not fame; it's authenticity. a leader is honest, even when they falter. a leader is real, even when they struggle. a leader stands true to their integrity not only to set an example to their followers, but because they know it's right. a leader is the same outside in public as they are behind closed doors."
"be honorable, be kind, be humble. aim to be your best self, but don't try to hide what's on the other side. a leader doesn't need to be someone who stands on a pedestal, but rather someone who rides side-by-side with those they inspire."
